We are seeing some interesting things on the horizon for 2023. If you are an RVers or interested in RV Living, you will want to keep reading. So let’s jump right in and talk about 4 things that could have a BIG impact in the coming year.
Electric & Alternative Powered RVs
One of the biggest changes we could see for RV living in 2023 is the rise of electric RVs. More and more people have become concerned about the environment. And with this growing concern, the demand for electric vehicles is only going to continue to grow. This means that in 2023, we could see a lot more RVs that are powered by electricity. Or RV’s that have some sort of hybrid power source.
Winnebago and Thor have already debuted concept electric RVs. And the luxury RV manufacturer Bowlus is already making a fully electric solar-powered RV. We personally will be adding solar to our RV in 2023. We will also add two more Battle Born Batteries increasing off-grid capabilities.
The Growth Of The RV-Sharing Economy
Another big change coming to the world of RV living in 2023 is the growth of the sharing economy. Specifically, as it relates to RV Living. More and more people are realizing that they don’t need to own an RV in order to enjoy RV Living. We are seeing the potential for more RV rental companies and RV-sharing platforms. More websites like Outdoorsy and RVShare could come onto the scene in 2023.
Sharing platforms like these makes it easier than ever for people to enjoy the RV lifestyle. All without the cost and commitment of RV ownership. This can be a great option to dip your toe in and test the waters of the RV lifestyle. WITHOUT having to sell it all and go RVing full-time.
RV Life Improved With New Tech
As the RV industry continues to grow, we are seeing the potential for some major improvements in technology and amenities. Tech like apple car play, and factory-installed solar and lithium setups for starters.
Winnebago has revealed their National Park Edition Vista which includes an upgraded solar system, and armless awnings. As a side note, it’s about dang time someone came up with an armless awning setup! I cannot tell you HOW many times I’ve hit my head on an awning arm.
We most likely will be seeing more technology for those needing to work from the road. Tech like wifi connectivity, preinstalled routers, and RVs pre-wired for Starlink internet.
There is also a move towards more luxurious amenities, like heated floors and high-end kitchen appliances. These are becoming more common in RVs. I don’t know about you but I would LOVE a dishwasher in the RV!
More Diverse & Obscure RV Destinations
One of the best things about RV living is the ability to explore new places, see new sights, meet new people, and try new foods!
In 2023, we’re going to see more diverse destinations becoming popular among the RV and travel community. Many RVers have traditionally wanted to visit all the National Parks or other “bucket list” destinations. However, these places have quickly become overcrowded with visitors. This makes it more difficult to secure campground reservations. Plus the extra crowds drive up the cost to stay, eat and shop in these areas.
Obscure travel destinations are becoming increasingly popular among travelers. Especially for those who are looking to avoid crowds and experience something truly unique. These destinations may not be as well-known as some of the world’s most popular tourist spots. However, they offer an abundance of beauty, culture, and adventure that is sure to impress even the most seasoned traveler.
Firstly, many travelers flock to the United States’ most popular tourist destinations, such as New York City, Los Angeles, and Orlando. But our country is also home to a wealth of lesser-known destinations. These places can offer just as much beauty and adventure. These obscure travel destinations in the lower 48 states are perfect for travelers who want to explore off-the-beaten-path locations and experience something truly unique.
Lessor Known RV Travel Destination Ideas
One such destination is the Badlands National Park in South Dakota. This stunning park is home to rugged wilderness and breathtaking landscapes. Including towering rock formations, deep canyons, and sprawling grasslands. Visitors can explore the park on foot, by car, or even by horseback, and they will be rewarded with stunning views at every turn.
Secondly, another destination worth considering is the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Colorado. This little-known park is home to some of the steepest and most dramatic cliffs in North America. And it offers a range of outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, and rock climbing. At this park, visitors can also take a scenic drive along the park’s rim to take in the breathtaking views.
For those looking for a unique cultural experience, the city of New Orleans in Louisiana is worth considering. This vibrant city is known for its rich history, vibrant music scene, and delicious Creole cuisine. Visitors can explore the city’s historic French Quarter, visit the world-famous Jazz Fest, or take a swamp tour to see alligators and other local wildlife.
Places in the southwest have some amazing views and rich history. And in these places, the costs for campgrounds are less than what it typically costs to reserve an RV site in more popular destinations. We have a whole playlist for RVing in the southwest that you can watch below!
The lower 48 states of the United States are home to a wealth of obscure travel destinations that offer something truly unique and special. Whether you are looking for adventure, culture, or simply a change of scenery, these destinations are sure to provide a memorable and rewarding travel experience.

Want to know how you got the guts to start filming yourself
I (Charity) have an extroverted personality anyways and so talking to a camera has come fairly easy 🙂 Having a social media channel isn’t something everyone should do – only if it’s something they truly love and enjoy.
Can you tell me your song play list for the episode Big oops.
Thanks
Hi Richard, some of this I recorded at the restaurant we were at. I put my camera near the speaker to capture the audio. Some of the other songs we used were, At 2AM – Rune Dale, The Demon’s Smile – Martin Klem, Up and Ahead – Sven Karlsson, Getaway -Palm City, hustler baby by michelle-treacy. I hope this helps!
